Shuford’s Outdura® Collection Wins Platinum ADEX Award
HUDSON, N.C. – Shuford Mills LLC has won a Platinum ADEX in the 2006-07 Awards for Design Excellence competition. Earning the top award was the Horizons collection from Shuford’s successful Outdura® line of furniture-weight performance fabrics. ADEX is the largest, most prestigious awards competition for product design of furnishings marketed through the design trade.
Outdura’s award-winning collection for the 2007 line features a new color, Aquatic, and the lead pattern, Tempo, takes a fresh, modern approach to the classic paisley. Coordinated with a grasscloth-like texture called Cadence, Tempo also pairs with a bold, upscale stripe, Skyline. This 100 percent solution-dyed acrylic group can fit in any setting.

Another collection introduced by Shuford for 2007 is Fun in the Sun, which groups beachy stripes Captiva and Luna with Bingo’s playful splashes of color. Also new for 2007 are In Good Company and The Secret Garden. In Good Company is a collection that takes a new approach to masculine colors and patterns. The Secret Garden introduces new colors Pottery and Stone, and stylishly blends traditional warm earth shades and neutrals with cool, watery green hues.
Backed by a five-year limited warranty, furniture-weight Outdura is a 100 percent solution-dyed acrylic fabric that combines performance and durability with an unexpectedly luxurious hand. The 8-ounce fabric is stain-resistant, water-repellent, bleach-cleanable, breathable and, when properly used and maintained, will not fade, mildew or lose strength. Many styles of furniture-weight Outdura are excellent choices for contract and hospitality applications, as they exceed 60,000 double rubs of abrasion in laboratory tests.
