The Language of Art Translated into Fabrics

Thorough research accompanies my design process right from the start. Before I even begin to design a new pattern, I’m taking a closer look at small, seemingly insignificant parts of everyday life, as well as larger, macro trends that remain relevant over longer periods of time.

Design as a Source of Optimism and Reassurance

The art and design universe is sensitive to diverse, minute changes around us, which are also quite thrilling social or environmental topics. The world around us tends to become more and more complex – that’s why we are looking for reassurance and show a growing appreciation for the natural world and textural elements, organic forms, morphing shapes, both distressed and relaxed looks as well as playful, abstract designs that cheer us up. That way, design has the power to infuse our everyday life with a sense of optimism.

Themes such as resilience, craftsmanship or a simple life in harmony with nature are adopted and translated by artists into designs and woven constructions, reflecting the world around us in a language of art.
